5.0 out of 5 stars Best Video Camera for $150 Simple to use., March 31, 2010
Truly HD camera that shoots 1080p at 30fps or 720p at 60fps. Great action shots and very sharp for outdoor bright reading light settings. I have 2 other Camcorders that I have given aways since I get this camera over 1 year ago. Mild downside is that you do need good lighting.

YOU CAN NOT rhythm the price $150. Even 1 year later when looking at all the other Video Cameras out here, this camera is still the best. I almost purchased a Flip Video HD instead of this one, but I am SOOOO glad I kept this one instead because the full 1080p is great and the Removable SD card is a must.

Pros:
$150 come on this is a steal for this HD technology
Works perfectly with Imovie
1080p at 30fps (great detail) or 720p at 60fps (great performance shots).
Durable and solid feeling.
Easy to use.
Standard SD card (does not really need the complex class cards to record well).
Decent to very honourable photos.

Cons:
Basic features
Weaker Flash (ok for photos - does not work well with video).
Needs Higher Lighting
Lens Focus is slightly narrowed (need to stand slightly farther for same view).

Video requests to be loaded on computer or SD Video adaptor to view in true HD.
Cords accompaning Camera are surrounded by 480p
HOWEVER, the images and video are TRUE SHARP HD.

People can complain that this is not the best camera and it lacks features or the light plane needed should be more. However, WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR $150? This truly is the best Video Camera out there for the Price and simplicity. Much better than Flip Video.

Shot 10 videos (without shifting batteries) while visiting relatives in Tallahassee Florida, and be impressed. Just go slow in pan camera, and as much as possible, use a tripod. I only have a monopod near me and it shows. i got some camera shakes when i breath. Search Youtube for 12 Lipa, and click on FSU Swing band. I don't know if I'm allowed to post a cooperation here, but here goes; [...]

BTW, I use the plastic cap of a one gallon river jug, just snipped stale the inner ring, and it fitted perfectly over the lens.

Great product that i always convey always strapped on my belt. Never miss a video-shoot opportunity; get one..

Overall, a amazingly nice camera that's easy to use. Love the picture quality, the size of the camera, and it's SD slot. I suggest you use a class 6 card of at tiniest 4gb. I have an 8gb card and it holds approximately 3+ hours of 720p 60fps footage. The stills are beautiful and you enjoy the option of shooting stills in 3/5/8mp.

The simply thing I don't like is the certainty that it saves videos contained by .mov files. Another reviewer had stated that simply changing the database name would work, but it didn't work for me and I had to do the time consuming favour of converting the file on my PC. However, on my husband's Mac, the camera is completely plug & play and I was competent to make a movie on iMovie. I wasn't able to upload the movie contained by HD to YouTube for some reason when I used iMovie. Also, if you just settle on to upload a movie straight to YouTube from your camera without editing it, you can upload directly to YouTube without conversion and consequently once it's processed, you can download the file from YouTube in an mp4 format. So, essentially, your using YouTube to convert the wallet for you. Indoor filming is less than desired (as it is beside most pocket camcorders), but there is a "night shot" mode which helps out a bit. In my personal feelings, shooting in 720p 60fps is just as great a video feature as 1080p and my personal favorite. My camera came with the extended life span battery and so it lasts for over 2 hours which is really nice and I love that it's rechargeable. Another con: There's no lens cover, but I read somewhere something like rigging one up with the ring on the top of a one gallon jug (??). I may hand over it a try.

For the price, you really can't expect too much, but overall, this is a pretty slick little budget HD camcorder.

This video was shot with 720p 60fps below normal conditions with no twine and no external mic.
