5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Expected, Less Ergonomic, MUCH lower price, July 25, 2010
Pros:
Cheap
Comes with ALL of the functions of the Canon BG-E2 grip
Good locking mechanism
No problems (knock on wood)

Cons:
Terrible instruction Manual
Misfit texture compared to Canon body rubber
Don't know if it have an auto off function
Bad placement for an on-off switch
More difficult to release shutter/move main dial

Further Notes:
I be considering buying one of the Canon BG-E2 or BG-E2N grips. (the BG-E2N is to some extent more water resistant). This is about 3x cheaper. It isn't totally noticeable the difference between the two patterns of grip between the camera and grip, but it is in attendance. My camera is still improved in intense appeal though. I much rather spend about $100 toward a strange lens rather than a grip.

Experience:
About a year shooting. About 30% of my shots are in vertical format. I've have the grip for about three months. I haven't had an opportunity to bring it out into the rainfall yet.

Best Uses: Vertical shooting, and especially shooting with a lens that have a tripod foot. This will prevent the camera from weighing down the head of the tripod too much.
