Works just as expected, cheap and reliable! It feels as though this charges the mobile faster than the original :) The good cog being that the light "shuts off" once the battery-operated is charged - something not on the original sony charger! If you are looking for a spare one or if you lost your old one here's a tip: BUY IT :)

From the other 2 reviews I thought this was going to be exactly what I needed. When I plugged the charger in, the green reading light stayed lit. I thought this is what happens once the battery is charged, but I thought I'd pass it a shot. Left the battery in the charger overnight (green buoyant was on the entire time) and when I put the battery rear legs in the camera, it was like as before I charged it. Don't waste your money even though it's single a few bucks!

Purchased this unit as a replacement charger for my Cybershot DSC-W290. The sony mobile is Type G, NP-BG1.
When I received the unit, the battery be nearly dead. Placed the battery on the charger, plugged into the wall, and freestyle was fully charged rather hurriedly. Charger has a light indicator that turns green when battery-operated is fully charged. Excellent charger for just a few bucks.
