3.0 out of 5 stars It seems to work well, but its a bit big AND its made surrounded by China, November 19, 2010
This seems to be a good charger, but its bigger and much bulkier than I thought it would be. The user brochure states to protect it from dust, yet they don't give you a cover or anything for it. Seems close to it'd be simple enough to add one, plus you're paying big bucks for this sucker, they should jump all the way. Also, don't believe what other reviewers own said, this is indeed MADE IN CHINA, like nearly every other thing explicitly sold today. It may be a German company, but they apparently sold out their labor like all the rest. It say right on the unit, "made in china". On the suitable side, it does 'refresh' and then charge the batteries in a flash and I got this large size because I frequently requirement to charge 16 AA batteries at once and this unit works great for that. It is effortless to use and very versatile. Another item I like about it is the slider piece that adjust to different battery sizes seems more stable and beefier than within other chargers I've used. It seems like this one will closing me a long time. I'd recommend it, but if you don't need to charge so many battery at once on a regular basis, get a smaller model.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the charger to buy, June 29, 2008
This charger have all the features I wanted! It can charge AAA, AA, D, C and 9V battery in any combination. It acts as a mobile level check when a battery is first inserted. The power cord is removeable for easier storage. The portion I like best is the ability to donate the batteries in the charger indefinitely, and not hold to worry about overcharging them. It's not cheap, but worth every penny!

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost everything you could want contained by a charger., August 7, 2008
I searched for 2 weeks for the "best" charger to fit my needs, current and adjectives. This is what I came up with. I be a little skeptical about the removal of reviews on this charger, but decided to get one anyway, especially next to its 3 year warranty. I still have some older 600maH Nicads surrounded by my "fleet" that I felt would not be best to charge with Maha's MH-C808M, which charges at 1000ma minimum. I be also unimpressed with the so-called "LCD display" on the 808. The LEDs on the Ansmann are capable of displaying everything you call for to know about the charging mode and battery condition, making an LCD display unnecessary. In my belief, an LCD display would only be desirable if it displayed the actual maH accumulated charge of respectively cell. I very much wanted to hold that feature, but sadly at hand are no chargers currently on the market that charge C and D size cells, and hold out maH display. To that end, the LaCrosse BC-900 was considered, but I would've have to buy 3 of them to charge as many batteries as this model, and still could not charge Cs, Ds, or 9Vs, which I may give to my collection. So far, I have only charged "AA" size Nimh and Nicads next to this charger, but I am happy to report that both the Nicads and Nimh peaked out nicely after the brief "Refresh cycle" this charger give them. I sample tested some of the charged batteries by resting them 24 hrs, afterwards discharging them with my Dymond (hobby) charger/analyzer (at 0.5C), which discharges to 0.8V per cell. Most of the batteries in actual fact discharged more than their rated capacity after individual charged with this charger, so I would have to say-so the -dV circuitry employed in this unit is impressively good at charging each cell to full dimensions, and considering that some of my Nicads are over 15 yrs old, I would say the liven up feature has done its opportunity to bring back some lost capacity contained by these cells. At $119, this is possibly the most expensive charger on the market, but I am ecstatic with my choice due to its ease of use and sheer number (also sizes) of battery it can charge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good battery charger, July 9, 2009
I have a 3 in 1 battery charger from Rayoc previously I bought the Ansmann. The features I like about the Ansmann is single cell charging, LED lights, 4 9volt charging, and fixing a impossible battery. If you want to keep your batteries(investment) flawless then you can't go wrong next to this charger. The price might be high but is worth it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Did not recognize depleted cell., November 2, 2009
I am new to rechargeable batteries, and this is my first charger. I bought it base on the positive reviews, thinking I was buying "the best" out there. I also bought some investigational sanyo eneloop AA batteries, which I fully charged with this part, and then placed in my child's toy. When the toy stopped working, I removed the battery and placed them back into the charger, only to get hold of a "faulty cell" error message. I contacted www.Ansmann.us about the problem. They told me the sanyo cells be probably old and defective, and that I should return them to the manufacturer. I sent adjectives 4 back to Sanyo. Sanyo returned them to me stating that the cells be simply depleted, and that they were able to fully charge them again near their own sanyo charger (approx. $10 retail value). I contacted www.Ansmann.us again, and they did not have an answer except for me to ship the unit across country for a servicing evaulation (I be never informed that the unit should indeed detect depleted cell. For all I know, the component did exactly as programmed). I bought a sanyo charger as back up in travel case this happens again. I was highly disappointed in this expensive charger and was frustrated that I spent so much time and energy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, November 8, 2010
My hubby always finds the best. So he did. We are happy beside this charger. We just leave battery there overnight and in the morning they are suitable to go. Very easy to use. The just thing is that batteries don't really concluding long, but that's another story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Charger I have ever owned!, December 11, 2010
The ansmann charger simply takes the guesswork out of charging the mobile. You simply plug it in, stick the batteries into it no situation what their current charge level is, and it refreshes it precisely and cleanly.

The ONLY strike against this product is that the manuel is written in German, but if you simply follow the color code on the front of the charger it will be enough.

BEST CHARGER EVER!
