Only buy this if you have a strong tripod - you'll have need of it. But otherwise, this does a really nice job. It has both fixed and pan modes - I was surprised how useful the latter is for movies.

I recommend this product 100%. It has made a world of difference with my video. I use to take about 50% or less of usable video near my tripod now I get over 90%.

This motorized vessel head does a very nice mission. The movement is smooth in both the horizontal and vertical movements. I have see no jerking motion when it stops and then continues. The single concern is the vertical motion motor generates more noise later the horizontal motor. I am using a Sony DCR-HC90 which has a very sensitive mike. This should missing a real problem if the recording nouns is at a normal level. The go before works well on both batteries and an AC adapter. I am happy with the performance of this motorized Pan Head and would recommend it to anyone involve such a device.
