3.0 out of 5 stars Great for travel, June 17, 2010
I bought this for the convenience of taking it everywhere, but when I received it I realized this product is simply a temp solution for those who would like something more firm for their cameras. The design is compact and wispy, which makes it very unstable and undemanding to fall over if the weather is right. I recommend it for those who have a lighter camera, but next to an SLR this may me too light for it and I would hate to drop and break my expensive DSLR because I required to save a few dollars. If you're using it for a compact camera and perhaps indoors, this may be the product for you. Do not purchase this if you are planning to hold it on field trips with you (beach, parks, etc) because if the interweave blows in the right direction and the right force you might end up regretting ever purchasing this product.

1.0 out of 5 stars 50" Professional Tripod w/Case, February 1, 2010
When a purveyor uses the word "Professional" in their description of their product, it leads one to believe that the item is of impressively high quality. Such be not the case...AT ALL...with this Tripod! It is an awful piece of unwanted items that we cannot use and we were so disappointed in our purchase. (Especially since it be a Christmas gift). It is terribly unsteady, shaky, and pretty much worthless. We suppose that's the nature of shopping online...you never know what you're going to seize, good or bad. And this time it be bad. :(

4.0 out of 5 stars Not for SLRs, January 15, 2010
This tripod would be great to stabilize small point-and-shoot cameras, but it cannot hold my Canon SLR. As soon as I tightened everything up and let travel of the camera, the camera started pointing down until it was straight down. No matter how tight I get it, it could not hold my camera up. Plus, the base that you screw into your camera is very small, so if your camera is filling, it pops out of the tripod (Luckily I had my hands underneath when my camera fell bad the tripod).

So, if you have a heavy camera, steer clear.

If you enjoy a light camera, this tripod is perfect for on the step. It is super light, folds down to a very small size for a tripod, and have all the settings to get the shot you involve.

I chose to give it a 4 star rating because I got it as a grant, and now I notice it mentions within the description it has a 2.5 pound load size. I'm not quite sure I would put a 2.5 pound camera on it though - small point-and-shoot cameras will be perfectly fine.

I inevitability to get a more heavy-duty tripod, but if you have a small camera, I deliberate this tripod is a good find.

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your pennies and buy a real tripod, April 29, 2010
For the price, you can assume this is something i.e. pretty flimsy, but this product was even flimsier than my wildest imagination. If you have anything heavier than a point and shoot, don't even dribble away your time looking at it. I have huge reservations about putting my DSLR on it near a 30mm prime, much less with my 70-200, or even near my speedlight attached. "Professional" my ear!

3.0 out of 5 stars Travel tripod, December 30, 2009
This is item is just what I wanted. It is feathery (about 1 pound), collapses to 16-18 inches, and extends to 50". It was very inexpensive too. Therefore great for travel and carrying. I'm not a professional and don't work next to this daily; if I was a professional I would hold purchased a composite tripod for hundreds. As is, this will suit me fine. It is not terribly sturdy, won't stand up to a stiff wind, and the plastic parts will probably break if stressed. I get what I paid for and am happy as such.

Arrived Broken. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH SELLER "NEW HARBOR". Spend the money and buy something reliable.

1.0 out of 5 stars probably the worst item ive ever bought on amazon, March 25, 2010
i regretted this purchase the second i opened it. the cheapest made item on adjectives of amazon i bet and it seems like it could scarcely hold a fischer price camera. thank god it was cheap. spend the extra $20 and get something you can certainly use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just bought this Tripod, July 15, 2010
i just bought this tripod, and to be honest with your adjectives, i never read any of the reviews until AFTER i purchased it.

I have a Nikon D80 SLR, and in a few reviews i read relations stated that this tripod will not hold an SLR camera due to the weight.

So this whole time i be getting worried that it wasn't going to work on my camera because my camera is a good size, and weights a bit.
Well i got the tripod today. (i ordered it smaller quantity than a week ago, so shipping was amazing.. i choose standard shipping which stated that the product might take up to 3 weeks. in good health it took about 4 days.)

Anyway, i took out the tripod and it is fantastic. it's light, have a case with a strap and is VERY trouble-free to use. So the first thing i did was set it up and procure my camera on it. i have to tell you adjectives 100% honest. My 6lb camera did NOT fall off or move an inch.

This tripod works amazing beside my SLR, and i'm sooooooooo happy that it does.

Thanks.
