3.0 out of 5 stars Ok for the money, December 24, 2009
I needed a new tripod, so after much consideration i went next to this one. so far it is a good buy for the price. It is fairly solid but rather flimsy. I have used it with my canon oddball xsi and my small sony hard drive cam corder. it works well near both. I'm not sure how i feel about the removable foundation though. All in all it's functional and for the money i would recommend it if you don't want to break the dune.

3.0 out of 5 stars CHEAP BUT TALL, July 16, 2008
Definitely a case of you get what you retribution for...
Very difficult to lock down the head and probably not recommended for heavier cameras for that judgment. Head is NOT smooth, at all.

Unless you need the stage I'd find something else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product!!, May 30, 2008
This is my first tripod, and I am not a professional. I bought this for home use for a snapshot camera and video camera. Works great and is easy to use.

2.0 out of 5 stars just okay, May 29, 2008
I follow that in the world of videography you get what you settle up for and so is the case with this product. Love the bubble level, but the head is a little cheap if you are wanting to do serious work. Also love how towering you can make it. This feature really help with getting new perspective.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great TALL tripod, April 13, 2009
First off, this tripod does not have a fluid person in charge - so no, it's not ideal for video where you entail to pan around a lot. But if you want to pan, the side to side action will be much more smooth than up and down. It is great for stationary video or photography, especially where on earth you need some extra height. The legs are steady and so is the center extension - even at full rise. Works great at conventions or workshops - you can set the camera high enough so no head will walk or stand in front of your shot. It is also dignified enough to reach over most other standard tripods - once again to serve get a clear shot. The head locks down tight next to three separate mechanisms - one for each axis. The crank for the center extension is plastic but solid and economically constructed. The teeth on the center extension are made of metal for added durability. The camera attachment for the head has a metal bolt and metal butterfly to appendage tighten onto the camera. Overall, this tripod is solid, well constructed and very affordable. I would emphatically buy again, but it seems this one is going to last for a long time.
