Well, let's think about this, November 25, 2010
I give this product a full five star rating because I think it is unfortunate that the amount of effort and knowledge put into developing and manufacturing this product has only to its credit a one star review by some half-wit who should have never bought it in the first place. Sir, I wish I could applaud you for your effort and diligence at attempting to fix a rather delicate piece of equipment--but it is clear that you had none of either, and that blaming the world for your incompetencies is certainly not something you're new to. There was once a time in which I had never replaced an iPhone screen before, and did not know what a digitizer was. Now, I have, and I do. Something happened between then and now, and it was not my complaining that someone didn't make it "easier" for me. Instead, I learned about how the phone was put together and a little about how it works--oh, and how to take it apart.
If you think it's going to be as easy as changing batteries in a remote control--I'll give that guy the benefit of the doubt that he's at least done that--you most likely want to visit your local apple store and have the 'pro's fix it. However, if you are up to the challenge and are patient enough to go through it, you will find yourself happily with an iPhone that looks like new.
I hope you find this review at least slightly more informative than the other. Of course, when I actually receive the screen, I will be able to provide more detail as to its build quality and such.
Not the best, November 16, 2010
So, I dropped my phone and totally jacked the glass up and decided to buy this product. Unfortunately, due to my ignorance and their poor service, I'm still flailing with a broken phone.
The first thing that comes out is no set of instructions. I'm not blessed with any technologically gifted genes, thus I had to Youtube instructions on how to fix it.
Next, the product comes with a set of tools, but the screwdriver was too big and therefore, I couldn't get the screws out. Once I procured a smaller screwdriver, I was able to open up the phone.
Finally, even though they throw the word digitizer all over the place, it doesn't actually come with a digitizer. I'm not sure how to detach the digitizer from the previous glass, therefore, to me, this product gets a star.
