great little camera, September 30, 2009
i gave this to my granddaughter for her 12th birthday. without reading any instructions she run outside to use it. in a few minutes she was put money on with two videos of her friend doing cartwheels. this is one user friendly inexpensive digcam.
Tremendous Bargain, July 11, 2009
I am currently retired from clear design and photostyling for catalogs, I found the C180 to be a camera I wish I'd had ten years ago. I be amazed to find it has so many settings (it have ISO as well as many other settings for the most fun and practicality.) It also take videos.
I took it on vacation next to me and made some pretty special videos as well as stills. I recommend this to anyone.
Easy Entry-Level Camera, July 5, 2009
This camera is incredibly flowing to use, but offers enough advanced features for the average point-and-shoot user. I bought the camera for my elder parents who needed a simple camera. I was choosing between the Kodak M1033 and this camera, but decided to walk with this camera because it is slightly easier to use. Kodak describes the C series as a line of glib entry-level cameras, and that's definitely true.
PROS:
- Easy for first-time digital camera users
- Large LCD screen
- Large amount of megapixels
- Many "scene" settings pre-programmed for different types of shots
- Very low price
- Compact size
- Plug and play sharing via EasyShare
CONS:
- No viewfinder
- M1033 have a couple extra features (i.e., panoramic stitching)
- Uses AA batteries vs. charger (although this is mitigated by a good set of rechargeable battery
Buy this camera if you're looking for an affordable, compact, easy to use camera. It will meet the requests of most point-and-shoot users. Do not buy this camera if you're looking to customize your shots beyond pre-programmed settings (i.e., adjustments in ISO, f-stop, shutter speed, etc.), but that should be obvious, as this is a point-and-shoot.
decent for video, July 18, 2009
One thing, is that beside a 2 gig chip you can get something like 45 min of video. we've stopped using our dedicated camera for video and use this camera, although the quality is not as fitting. We don't have to buy the video tapes anymore....
Nice broad purpose camera, February 16, 2010
This camera is great for those of us who are not very technologically inclined. I give the Easyshare as a Valentine's Day gift for my fiance. He (and I!) has have a lot of fun taking pictures using the different settings, which is my favorite bit of the camera. For example, "up close" is for extreme close ups without blurriness, "sport" for fast movement takeover and "backlight" for backlit pictures. The night settings are great, like "extreme low light", "night landscape", and "night portrait". It even have individual settings for capturing fireworks, sunsets, sunny beaches and flowers.... interesting.
Truth be told I've never owned a digital camera earlier, so I'm sure there are better quality cameras out in that. But for our general use needs and for the price it's great. Its a wearing clothes size overall and the picture display is easy to see.
The EasyShare software is simple to use to edit pics as okay as make cards and other picture items. I haven't tried the "share" function yet for uploading to youtube, but I'll try it when I've taken some video clips on the camera.
Overall the Kodak EasyShare is a honest general use camera with a nice amount of bells and whistle. Its a great value for the price.
::UPDATE::
If you buy this camera, get rechargeable battery, because the camera sucks the power dry within an hour or so of use.
Excellent value, December 8, 2009
I've bought this camera just now and I love it. I have only two gripes, it uses AA battery vs. charger and you have to use SD cards, as internal storage is pathetic.
The camera shoots excellent imagery and does what it is supposed to do excellently. Video is also good.
Overall I'm satisfied beside my purchase and would recommend it for anyone looking for an inexpensive camera.
Poor quality photos, September 5, 2009
This camera takes poor characteristic photos. Yes, it's slim and lightweight. Yes, the shutter speed is snappy. But the photos are of such poor quality that it's a pretty useless camera.
I bought this camera at Best Buy for $100 because my Olympus SP-320 is starting to act up (sometimes it won't turn on). During the first two days I owned the Kodak, I took nearly 100 photos within a variety of lighting conditions; none of them were keeper. A few looked okay when viewed on the computer at 25% size, but most were manifestly fuzzy. When viewed at 100%, all 97 photos are fuzzy; some of them even look similar to paintings rather than photos. Most of the photos have awful contrast, too.
As a last test beforehand returning the camera, I took the Kodak and my Olympus outside and two a set of identical photos with respectively (a park with lots of trees on a sunny day). The photos from the 7 megapixel Olympus were sharp even contained by the shadowed areas and the sky was a beautiful blue. The photos from the Kodak be noticeably fuzzy and the sky was nearly white. I took the Kodak vertebrae.
Read all instructions first!, November 2, 2009
I dropped by Easyshare DX7440 so I had to bring back something real quick while I get hold of the other repaired. The features were not quite one and the same, but if you read the instructions first instead of thinking you know what you're doing, you will find this to be a great camera for the price.
Not a bad little camera., July 18, 2009
I like the bright c180 camera from Kodak. I needed a new point and shoot, and for the money, this one does the job fine. Love the 10 MP element images. The only con I can suppose of is that the auto focus is a bit slow (almost nonexistent in low light situations). I'm not going to complain too loudly though. The price be right.
Good Camera, November 16, 2009
I've had this camera for about a month and so far I really resembling it. It's nice, simple to use, and takes good pictures, which is the most critical thing. I only will the camera was a little thinner and have a bigger screen, but you can't beat the price.
