Future software upgrades will make this a great DVR, August 2, 2006
This is a good DVR. Recorded images are very good even in low quality mode if you use a good camera. Time lapse is also good but fairly limited in options. The computer interface works and allows you to download images to your computer. The problem with this unit is that the software really needs a lot of work to enhance navigation, features and reliablity. Owners manual did not game the software either. If your the only one using this (no employee's etc) then this might work if your computer literate. If your looking for something you can set and forget this will work--power loss doesn't effect configurations. You just got to be tolerant of the lack of features and buggy software before you get it configured the way you want. Software reworked copy I used was June 2006 or earlier.
