awesome TV, November 15, 2010
This TV is awesome. Very clear picture. You do not need cable. An antenna can receive more than 30 digital channels.
ok for the price, December 1, 2010
I bought this tv on the price. When I got it out of the box and hooked it up I thought I made a terrible mistake. The picture was dull and motion jerky, when I watched football the ball would hop across the screen. After oodles hours and weeks of tweeking the setting I am getting a good picture. I had to shut off all the advanced settings; dynamic motion, dynamic color, and especially the power saver setting. The owner manual describes none of these features. I found the power saver option by accident looking at features-demo-power investor and found a way to set it to maxium. After doing this I get a good HD picture but still not the same as my Samsung. The Samsung is brighter and crisper. I paid $900 for the Samsung 6000 seris LED and $700 for the Phillips. All in all a ok price for the set but if I had to do it over again I would have bought a Samsung LCD for impossible to tell apart price.
Lowest price on a LED, November 18, 2010
At the time of purchase this was the lowest cost LED.
I am still playing with some of the Net features but it seems like there are some good possibilities on this TV.
I updated over the internet by connecting my ethernet cable. It was a bit slow but seemless. Much easier than updating most things. The only complaint was the TV played surrounded by the background (behind a large progress rectangle) while the update was happening but there was no ability to turn down the volume so be prepared!
The picture seems great although it is our first larger screen and some of the shows have a soap opera feel to them. This may just be more noticible on a larger screen. The bezel is very stylish and looks contemporary.
Thumbs up from me!
Tv is a joke, very poor picture. Vizio is way better in comparison., December 7, 2010
Dont be fool by the price. I rewarded less thn 700$ but paid more for this mistake. Luckily Amazon is willing to take it back, but not without effort.
If you do not hv other hdtv or lcd tv before, you probably think this tv is ok?
No, my 10yr aged 32' tube phillips is way better picture thn this. I suspect the chinise manufacturer tht Phillips subcontracted out to make this model not an expert tv manufacturer.
I saw another review(gave 3 stars) said tv is ok for the price- no! it is a junk, you wont want it even if it is 300$. The picture hurts your eyes(the color combination) and couldnt fix it on settings- thts why Im so adamant on returning this tv.
Seriously, somethng is not right with this tv, not sure if theres a faulty part on mine.
Only upright thing- Speaker is way better than other LED-lit tv I bought. But an externl pair of speaker can be as cheap as 50bucks.
