Great for work and family, October 22, 2009
I'm rarely the first to return with anything but this thing is COOL. I'm a sucker for tiny form factors. Priced right for a spanking new gadget (thought I could see it going lower in time--under $200 would be nice). We had be looking at buying a used LCD/DLP projector but with this, we got what we needed and more. We simply got it yesterday and found it easy to use, justifiably easy to set up with the exception of hooking it up to our portable dvd player. We needed to jerry rig it into a M2M AV connection--the fast start guide doesn't cover this at all and we stole the cable from our tv to make it work. Haven't checked battery-operated life but it's easily run past its sell-by date the ac adapter
That said, my 6 year old LOVED hanging out within our living room watching a movie both off my iphone and the portable dvd. She's already plotting her next sleep over. The picture trait is amazing--our display on the living room wall was probably about 4' x 7-8 foot and very clear given that the room was not completely threatening. For a group, you might want to hook it up to external speakers (we hooked it up to our Bose SoundDock and it worked great) but when traveling or for a small group, the sound on the little device is fine. Great when you don't have to force 4 kids to crowd around rather dvd player.
For work, I can definitely see taking this to client sites when I need to do presentations. It's more or less the size of a digital camera even with the case and cable. Very light, compact. Comes with adjectives the connectors you need for the most part including power adapters for int'l travel.
A clever gadget, especially for the $$. Would be fun if they produce them contained by different colors like the apple products.
amazing when traveling, November 4, 2009
Can't wait to return with a monster huge projector one day for my future Home drama room (don't we all think we will eventually hold one?), but until then the coolest new gadget I only just bought is my Swivel. It's like a mini home theatre projector that I can put contained by my pocket. I travel a lot so now when I want to curl down in my hotel room, I no longer have to surf desperate tv. I plug in my Ipod to my Swivel and watch movies projected on the ceiling. Very Cool. I also own been able to show friends some of my fave music video while we are out in a bar or restaurant. People other ask me what's in my hand. The Swivel is my foreign favorite gadget to take everywhere.

I have have this gadget on back order since reading the rave reviews something like it from this past year's CES convention. I am not normally an untimely adopter -- craziness in my book -- but in this shield, I made the exception because I could imagine that the cinemin could have a role surrounded by my life and so far so good.
It's duly idiot proof, which is a good thing. It's get a great picture that rivals that of my television, and the ability to keep watch on from any surface is just really cool. I've been projected the depiction on my entire bedroom wall, and it's just awesome. Raymond Chandler would be proud. The cool bits are simply that you can take it from room to room, and also the swiveling guide, which seems like a no-brainer once you've see it, but it is for some reason the only one on the marketplace with this feature.
I read out - skip the new tv - buy yourself an I-Phone and a Cinemin and maybe a Slingbox and view away.

I was very much looking forward to this amazing gadget. A few weeks subsequent I am slightly disappointed and thought I would share this so that other users know what they let themselves in for. I bought it specifically for my iphone, but be very gutted to hear that it only supports video and photo slideshow on the phone. I be hoping to show of some of the amazing apps I bought and am developing myself. The resolution is not great and it needs to be very brown for you to achieve a good satisfactory image. They advertise it by showing that you can shine it on the side of a tent - I am not so sure what that would accomplish. If you are within a dark room and you have get a smooth white surface to project against, it is all right. If you were thinking of using telephone while watching the movie, you can't change the volume. So all and adjectives, I would give it a 3 out of 5 and probably would not have bought it have I the chance to do it again.. Sorry.

I've dreamed of having a projector in my living room for a long time immediately - problem is, it continued to be a dream because I already have WAY too much stuff in my small, city apartment. I couldn't defend getting more bulky electronics to fill the little free space I have not here.
I saw the Cinemin in Oprah Magazine earlier this month and I be immediately sold. It's like a DVD player you can pass around...in your pocket! I was stoked. For the second week or so, I have been enamored near this gadget's ability to make me more comfortable than I've ever be while watching anything on a screen. My boyfriend and I are adamant in the region of our Dexter and Californication dates each week, but by the time we hold come home from work, gone to the gym, eaten dinner, and showered, it's pretty late. These days, we in actual fact get in bed, equipped to sleep, and watch Dexter's evil schemes or Hank Moody's outlandish escapades play out on the ceiling above the bed as we decline asleep.
I don't think I've ever considered myself an early adopter, but this device is one that I have to snatch up the minute it was released. I'm an avid traveler, so the in-between times on a trip, on-board a train from city to city or mid-air crossing the Atlantic (and stuck near the latest horrendous Jennifer Aniston flick as our in-flight movie) are going to be wonderful times to use the Cinemin. I'm looking forward to it. :-)

I was intensely anxious to recieve this as a christmas present this year. I currently have a Infocus projector which is rather immense. It to is a DLP and has a very nice element of picture to it. I read all the reviews about this prior to my wife purchasing the item (she cant hold on to secrets very capably.)
Lets just start off near the packaging of the item. Very neat very well packaged when I opened it up. I m not one for reading instruction manual, but I did take a peak at the brochure, very short and to the point not a lot of detail. My principal reason for looking at the manual be to find out about charging the battery back use. Well there wasn't any information that I could find on it so I went straight into carrying out tests it out. The iphone adapter is pretty straight forward. Plug it in just approaching the issued iphone/ipod cable and wait for the blue light to appear to ensure it is seated properly. I consequently took my 3.5mm AV cable and plugged that into the bottom of the adapter and then the Cinemin. Of course it was daylight out so the picture wasn't terrifically visible. I then took it to a dark room in the house and projected my image on the wall. Very verbs after a few tweaks of the focus scroller. I then tested the sound out. Now anyone that you lose all control of the sound on the Ipod/Iphone after the adapter take over I was limited to the nouns of the Cinemin. The sound was massively limited and not very loud. Just ample for 1 person to hear. But I wasnt to concerned about that motive she also bought the Tweakers mini Speakers which work wonders for the sound. In the end I am terribly pleased with the Cinemin projector and look forward to breaking it with use over the subsequent few years and future deployment I have surrounded by the middle east.
Pros: Size, Picture quality, Ease of Use
Cons: Very dark room to keep watch on, Sound on the speaker not very loud.

I read the reviews of the Cinemin projector and found several rated it near only 1 star. I almost didn't buy it and am really glad I did. The resolution is excellent, and I have found it to show fitting picures in a dim environment rather than need a very dark room approaching several of the reviews said. I just returned from a plane trip from Dallas to Baltimore and watched a video on the vertebrae of the seat in front of me. On the return trip I have a bulkhead seat and projected the image on the bulkhead. Several windowpane shades were up and I had no problems seeing even the dark scenes of the movie. My only problem be the people who kept stopping to ask me questions in the order of it. I had a couple of business associates join me surrounded by my hotel room and we watched a video together from my iPhone. One left saw he was going to buy one as soon as he returned home from the business trip we were on. I don't have a sneaking suspicion that you would be unhappy owning the Cinemin.

This is a really cool gadget.
While certainly not a replacement for the standard organization or travel projector, it actually does a really great job of throwing a clothed job throwing an image on the wall.
Its primary use is as an entertainment device. It connects to my iphone and ipad, right out of the box and though the documentation is VERY skimpy, almost anyone should be capable of figure out what plugs into what. The first time you play a video off your iphone or show photos, populace will gasp. And the device's coolest design feature is that it articulates 90 degree to watch videos on the ceiling.
Overall, it's cool for what it is. I love mine.

This is really an arresting little gadget. Quite easy to use, just plug it surrounded by to charge, turn it on and attach a device. I attached my iPhone and watched videos through iTunes and YouTube fairly easily. On a wall, on a ceiling. There really needs to be unbelievably little ambient lighting though. But when it's dark, really a pretty sharp picture for the size of the thing and its resolution. And I be especially impressed by the sound given the tiny size of the speaker.
My only complaint is a scarcity of documentation. The box came with a "quick start guide" which told you particularly little beyond how to charge it and a couple of other notes and one "sample" configuration. That's it, and there doesn't come across to be any more documentation online. But given how relatively easy to use it is, this is a minor quibble.

Yes, this is basically a toy, but it's exactly what I expected. I just considered necessary something compact to show pictures and video from my iphone and still camera. My husband was interested in a projector that a friend have but that one cost $1,000. This is something fun that we will use once in a while. Whenever I take pictures or video of my nieces they want to see themselves directly and this makes them feel close to movie stars. Yes, the room does have to be dark and you might hold to buy some additional cords, if you want something for business purposes then you obligation something more heavy duty and with more features. This projector similar to going to a drive in movie as opposed to a theater, the picture is other a little washed out. It also reminds me of trying to want on a new laptop. If you want one that's very compact after you might have to carry an external DVD player near you sometimes depending on what you're doing and you give up memory and processor speed.
